Refrigerated Medication:
This medication requires refrigeration. Our team will do our best to keep it chilled during delivery. We ship medications that require refrigeration in tested and certified insulated packaging. The packaging contains frozen gel packs and keeps your pet’s medication at a safe temperature for 72 hours.
We pack orders with refrigerated medications just before dispatch to maintain their cool temperature. If you order a refrigerated medication on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, it will ship on Monday.
Once the medication has left us, the environment it is kept in is out of our control. Refrigerated medication should be cool to the touch on arrival. If it is not, please contact our customer care team.
Please provide an urban address for delivery. If you might not be home at the time of delivery, leave a chilly bin with ice outside the door.
The dose rate for Toujeo is wide, with variation in response between patients, so dosing depends on the individual response to the treatment. However, the concern for hypoglycaemic events is low due to the lack of variation in day-to-day glucose levels. It is recommended to use continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) when starting and titrating this medication.
For the small number of patients not able to be reliably controlled on once-daily Toujeo, it is possible to use concurrent insulin injections such as Caninsulin around one hour before a meal to help achieve good levels of stabilisation.
